Meet Seth
Seth Cohen was born in Evanston, Illinois, and raised in Buffalo Grove. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2016 and, following his honorable discharge in 2020, continues to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve. Seth earned both his bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Chicago and lives in Chicago with his wife and daughter.
In 2022, Seth co-founded The Brigade, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that has supported the professional development of over 500 student veterans across Chicagoland and the New York Metropolitan Area.
Outside of work, Seth is passionate about backcountry camping, politics, writing, and expanding his personal library. He recently returned from a canoe camping trip in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area—a must-visit for any outdoor enthusiast. He is currently reading The Professional Soldier by Morris Janowitz and conducting research on the structural divide between enlisted personnel and commissioned officers in the U.S. military. His work explores whether the Prussian officer model remains compatible with democratic ideals and whether it is suited to the demands of 21st-century warfare.
